2015-003

15:30-1630. 42:11/649/167/193/13:11 34:09/5.39/9.3, Home, Jewel, Home (one clocking for round trip)
(clock. time/cal/avg-hr/max-hr/time-in-target, time/dist/mph, landmarks)

Weather:Clear, sunny, 59 degrees. Wind 7 mph, SW

Traffic: Traffic was indifferent. No close calls, no excessive politeness.

Visibility: Sunny, lights were off.

Equipment: Backpack only, mostly empty on trip out, 5-ish lbs of groceries on return.

It's practically summer, might as well just call it that, because "summer" is weather fit for bicycling. My first grocery-trip for the year, and it was a small load. I didn't bother to bring the trailer. Traffic was largely indifferent, neither trying to pull too close nor giving me a lot of room, especially on McKee and when crossing Randall. Several other bikes were out today.

2015-002

1630-1700. 26:03/428/174/193/4:58, 21:42/2.53/6.8, Home to Parents (out)
2230-2300. 22:21/382/178/194/02:53, 22:39/2.42/6.1, Parents to Home (back)

Weather: Clear skies, high of 49, low of 33, Wind 5/S (out); Dense fog (<100' vision), 34 degrees, no wind (back)

Traffic: No problems on way out, very cautious and polite motorists on return trip (very rare)

Visibility: My side-strands need a fresh charging, and I need new cells in my front-wheel bulbs, but other than that I'm all lit up.

Equipment: Backpack and trailer (mostly empty) on trip out. Backpack mostly empty, trailer with 10-lb load on return trip.

2015-001

1830-1900. 20:43/344/174/191/03:41, err/err/err, Home to TGIF (out)
2045-2115. 34:42/502/163/193/15:41, err/err/err, TGIF to Home (back)
(clock. time/cal/avg-hr/max-hr/time-in-target, time/dist/mph, landmarks)

Weather: Clear skies, high of 49, low of 33, Wind 5/S

Traffic: Two close-calls, one at Randall and McKee, crossing the light heading eastbound, with the offender turning left in front of me with less clearance than he thought he had; second at the 4-way stop on Elm, went around me at the stop sign a bit too close and failed to stop (or even tap his brakes, just gunned it).

Visibility: My side-strands need a fresh charging, and I need new cells in my front-wheel bulbs, but other than that I'm all lit up.

Equipment: Just backpack, and mostly empty, despite spare gloves for varying weather conditions. No trailer.

Wow, I've lost a lot of muscle mass over the winter. Ouch, that hurt. It felt good, but it hurt too.

Pre-post Post

This is to be another record of my exercise regimen. I have one already started, that is trapped on a flash drive running Linux Mint that my computer has stopped reading. The drive is intact, but the data is locked away where I can't reach.

I've just recently started a second set of data, collating my notes from my cell phone since the drive mentioned above ceased functioning, so it will be an incomplete logging as well as slow in coming to completeness.

Only tonight have I started entering information from post-ride notes in the second and newer spreadsheet, so it will be a while before it is complete and up-to-date. This blog will serve as a third back-up (actually second, since the "first" is inaccessible to me, and contains data that will not be included in the second and "third").

Here's to hoping I don't lose any more data.
